4 affordable spring break family destinations

Category: Travel

Spring break is right around the corner, and with the kids having some time off from school, it can be the perfect time for the entire family to get away. If you’re looking for some fun trip ideas that offer something for everyone and are also affordable, consider the following:

This is a Caribbean jewel that is a little more off the radar than its neighboring islands, but it also tends to be a bit more affordable. From airfare to lodging, Curacao can be the perfect choice if your family is hoping for a budget-friendly international beach getaway this spring. Save even more money on your vacation by staying at one of the island’s all-inclusive resorts.

Florida’s west coast

Florida is popular spring break destination, and a lot of beach towns are priced accordingly. Miami, Fort Lauderdale, the Keys, and the Palm Beaches in South Florida are all top spring break picks, along with Daytona Beach in northern Florida, Disney World in central Florida, and the pristine beaches along Florida’s Emerald Coast in the panhandle. But the west coast of Florida offers beaches that are arguably just as beautiful, but without the large crowds and higher prices that other Florida beach getaways might come with. Try Sanibel Island, Fort Myers Beach, or Bonita Springs for the ideal family spring break that the entire family will love.

Park City, Utah

Depending on when your child’s spring break is, you might be able to catch Park City while it’s still in ski season. There are a lot of benefits to going on a ski trip at the end of the season—fewer crowds, warmer weather, better deals on airfare, and cheaper lodging. And as an added bonus, Park City offers free ski lift tickets at any of its three main ski resorts the day you arrive. Just make sure you book a flight with an early arrival and bring your boarding pass with you to Park City Mountain, Deer Valley, or the Canyons and enjoy a fun-filled day on the slopes.

Las Vegas, Nevada

Las Vegas goes way beyond partying and gambling, and is becoming more of a top pick as a family-friendly destination. Live entertainment that’s suitable for all ages, fun museums, and carnival rides are just some of the many activities that everyone in the family can enjoy. Prices in Vegas tend to be higher on weekends and during the summer, so take advantage of cheaper weekday rates during spring break. And if you want to explore the desert a little bit more, rent a car and head out to the Hoover Dam (just 45 minutes away and makes for a great day trip) or the Grand Canyon (4 hour drive).
